FL Democrat Senator Tells Big Lie About Gun Used In Shooting, Gets Brutal Reality Check
Wannabe “Gun expert” Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) just got caught telling a whopper of a lie about the firearm used by 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz in the Florida school shooting. Now, Nelson is getting a brutal response from people who know better and aren’t afraid to deliver the reality check he deserves.
It never takes long for liberals to hijack the narrative after a crisis and try to use it for a political agenda. That is exactly what happened on Thursday, February 15, 2018, when Florida Democratic Senator Bill Nelson appeared on MSNBC to spread some fake news of his own. Unfortunately for Nelson, people are not as stupid as he would like, and many hit back with brutal responses on social media, exposing his tired tactics.
According to Daily Caller, Nelson told MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski and her viewers that Nikolas Cruz used an automatic weapon to murder 17 innocent people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
The only problem with that statement is that it isn’t true. Police have already identified the AR-15 rifle used by Cruz, and according to their official statement, that is a semi-automatic firearm. Those pesky facts seem to always get in the way of liberals and their twisted narratives. Nelson probably didn’t think anyone would call him out on his false claim, but he was so very wrong.
In the clip, Brzezinski sarcastically asked Nelson if she could discuss gun control. “Is this OK to talk about gun control policy at this time, sir?” she asked. Nelson responded by saying that now is not only the time “to talk about it, but to screw up our resolve to do something about it.” It’s almost painful to watch these two morons enjoy their rhetoric.
Nelson continued spewing his nonsense about the shooter’s firearm. “Here is an automatic weapon, an assault rifle,” Nelson said, “Just look in Florida: Pulse Nightclub a couple of years ago, a year ago the Fort Lauderdale airport, now this. And that’s just the state of Florida. We certainly ought to talk about all the other things that everybody is talking about — mental health, protection at schools,” he said. “But we got to get right down to the nub, and that is, should assault weapons be legal?”
First of all, “assault weapon” is a term made up by politicians to scare people. Secondly, Nelson is just plain wrong about Cruz using an automatic weapon, and sadly for him, people noticed. Many infuriated viewers took to Twitter after Nelson’s false claim, giving him a brutal reality check.
One Twitter user called “NeoPagan” wanted to put Nelson in his place, delivering a brutal response to a liberal hack on Twitter about Senator Nelson (D-FL). “Bill Nelson is an idiot. What’s the difference between hunting and killing? He also said an automatic weapon was used. He is either incredibly ignorant of guns or he was lying,” they tweeted.

I could not agree more with the conclusion that Nelson is an “idiot.” Nelson should have remembered that he’s entitled to his own opinion but not his own facts.
Nelson statement on Fox News also received a brutal response from Twitter users. He said, “We’ve got to face the fact that this is an automatic military assault weapon. I want you to know I grew up on a ranch. I have grown up with guns. I have hunted all my life. I hunt with my son still. And an AR-15 is not for hunting. It’s for killing.”

A Twitter user named Tristan responded to Nelson with this truth bomb: “News flash: ARs are NOT automatic weapons, nor is it an ‘assault rifle.’ If you’re going to spout off about gun control, please know the facts… not just what fits your narrative.”

I think it’s time for Senator Bill Nelson to hang up his narrative and start dealing with the facts. Perhaps it’s time for the voters in Florida to replace Nelson with someone who won’t push a political agenda while politicizing the deaths of 17 innocent people.
Until liberals learn to deal with reality, there won’t be any meaningful conversation on creating real safety on school campuses. In my opinion, Nelson should issue a public apology for his dishonesty and attempt to twist the narrative just to push gun control.
